Welcome to Community Rights US's archive of the last 3 years of audio commentaries by Paul Cienfuegos on examples of corporate rule over We The People. We're glad you landed here! We welcome you to delve deeper and learn about how the Community Rights movement steps outside of conventional activism, whether it be environmental, labor rights, or social justice, and points out its ineffectiveness. Community Rights activism is about rights based organizing as opposed to fighting one single issue after another single issue in response to an emergency corporate activity.

In our movement we say that we should have the right as We The People, as the sovereign people of the United States, to say we don't want any corporate activity that is going to harm our community, period. Imagine being able to exercise our Right to have clean water in our communities. Our Right to have a sustainable energy future. Our Right to a safe food supply.
The Community Rights movement is about passing local laws all over the country at the city, town or county level that changes the structural relationship between the people who live there and the government and business corporations and essentially saying that we should be on top of that process and not pleading with our elected officials or pleading with corporate directors to say "please cause less harm." 
Understanding the Community Rights movement bring to light the understanding that our power is in ourselves as the sovereign people.  
Just as the Declaration of Independence states, "....That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive....it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
